Summary of artificial turf construction process
Below is a basic overview of the process AT SPORT carries out to construct artificial turf for customers.

In fact, constructing artificial grass requires a lot of experience and technique to produce a quality lawn. This is thanks to construction experience and friction in many cases. Especially AT SPORT has constructed over 1,000 turf fields so it knows the best way to provide artificial turf customers.

In the article below, we simulate the process of constructing an artificial turf field, estimating the cost as well as the standards of an artificial turf field for readers to follow!

AT SPORT CONSTRUCTS ARTIFICIAL GRASS FIELD OF ALL SIZES

LUX98 SPORT constructs the following artificial turf fields:
Construction of mini 5-person football artificial turf field
The size of a 5-person soccer field has an average area of about 800m2, of which:
– Maximum yard length 42m and minimum 25m.
– Maximum width is 25m and minimum is 15m.

Construction of a 7-person intermediate football artificial turf field
The size of a 7-person soccer field has an average area of about 1925m2, of which:
– Maximum yard length 65m and minimum 45m.
– Maximum width is 45m and minimum is 25m.

Construction of large artificial turf football field for 11 people
The average size of a 7-player soccer field is about 7,140 square meters, of which:
– Standard length 105m (minimum 100m and maximum 110m).
– Standard width: 68m (minimum 64m and maximum 75m).

ESTIMATE COST OF CONSTRUCTION OF ARTIFICIAL GRASS FIELD

Although the cost varies in size as well as region and quality of the ground. But below is the basic cost estimate AT SPORT plans for a 5-person mini soccer field. Readers can refer to the budget for a basic artificial turf field

CONSTRUCTION PROCESS OF ARTIFICIAL GRASS FIELD AT SPORT
PHASE 1 – GROUND PREPARATION

First they need to clear the natural land from grass and garbage. Spray grass pesticides on the field to avoid natural grass growth and affect the artificial grass
Swipe the machine in so that the yard has a slope of about 0.3 – 0.6%. This platform needs to be used
Then, use a roller to roll the initial soil (should choose a 10 – 12 ton roller to achieve a compactness level of K ~ 0.9 – 0.95).
Finally, recheck the entire ground surface to see if it meets the requirements. You should handle cases where compactness has not been achieved or soil loss to avoid affecting future steps.

PHASE 2 – POSITIONING THE YARD, LOCATION OF LIGHT PILLARS, ELECTRICAL PILLARS
Firstly, it is necessary to fight to create a right angle for the football field, position the football field as well as the pillar lights and choose the appropriate cylinder lights. And if you want sturdy cylinders, you should use concrete cylinders
After that, you need to dig positioning holes, and if you don’t know how to determine how many holes as well as the distance and location, you can contact AT SPORT for free instructions!
Note, you should choose a suitable location to give the yard good drainage

PHASE 3 – CONSTRUCTION OF SIDES (ALSO CALLED DRAINAGE SYSTEM)
First, it is necessary to use brick cards (or pipes) to build about 100 ~ 200mm thick (this thickness also depends on the height of the box chain).
Build a drainage ditch for the system with a width of about 0.5m and a height of 20-40cm (this is also called the starting point). The required corrugation here is 0.2%, the woven panel is 50cm long
Small note: Depending on the garden interface you plan to construct, decide whether to build a drainage system or just build a label box. For more technical advice, you can contact the AT SPORT construction team. Consultation fee is completely free!

PHASE 4 – TECHNICAL STONE PLANTING
In this step, the artificial turf construction team needs to spread 0x4 stones (depending on the location, it is called supply stone or base stone). This step needs to be spread evenly along the surface of the turf (but the standard needs to be slower than 3~ bundles). 5cm)
We should spray water when kicking 0x4 to create a tighter bond and compress the stone to the field surface more evenly.

PHASE 5 – CONCLUSION
At this stage, a road roller is needed to enter the yard to compact the 0x4 stone to ensure long-term ground stability, without being affected by the turf system above the complex, which will affect the quality of the turf later.
Note: usually we use 10 ~ 12 ton rollers to achieve soil compactness K = 0.9 ~ 0.95.

PHASE 6 – SPREAD STONE TO COMPLETE THE YARD SURFACE
The first step in this stage is to use a guide wire to create a standard slope (this slope has a turtle shape with a slope of 0.3 ~ 0.5%). Note that you should use a turtle wheel to divide it into small batches, using a ruler to scrape out each layer.
The thickness of this rock layer is about 0.3 ~ 0.5cm and has not been compacted (equal to the height of the bund).
Before spreading the grass, you should use a small roller to roll the finishing layer of stone.

PHASE 7 – ARTIFICIAL SHRINKAGE
First you need to choose suitable conditions, sunny, dry at a temperature of 13 degrees Celsius
Note that this step requires arranging the grass in the wrong direction
When laying turf, it can be spread in a horizontal or vertical design.
The neck roll should go over the eyelid, making it convenient to apply the bonding glue later.
Note that the grass needs to be spread out from the middle of the yard.

PHASE 8 – SPREADING SAND AND RUBBER GRAINS ON THE ARTIFICIAL GRASS FIELD SURFACE
Sand needs to be spread in layers – 2 to 3 layers of sand: each layer 10 to 20 mm thick.
After spreading, use a professional lawn sander and rake to spread the sand evenly over the field. This creates a stable turf surface, the sand must be cleaned before spreading.
Note: spread sand in layers and spread multiple times to create a stable sand surface. Make sure to check evenly across the yard before spreading plastic granules.
Spread rubber seeds on the artificial turf surface:

Spreading rubber seeds must have an average density of (5kg-8kg) per m2 and be about 0.8cm -2cm thick.
Use a large grader or rake to evenly rake the turf.
Note: Spreading these rubber seeds helps prepare the soccer field to make it more bouncy, creating a more shiny feel when playing.
